What We Are All About
The purpose of the Foothills Antique Power Association is to promote the identification, acquisition, restoration, preservation, and exhibition of agricultural, mechanical, household and industrial devices as used in the by-gone era and commonly referred to as antique power.
It is the purpose of this organization to promote, provide and maintain such activities, projects and services for the education and enjoyment of the general population.
Any person interested in the above objectives may submit a membership application along with their dues to join the association.
What we do
Hold monthly meeting to conduct club business, present programs of club interest and plan the annual "Power from the Past Show" on Memorial Day weekend each year. Plan and hold a Tractor Trail Ride on public roads during the summer. Swap needs and stories with other members. Publish monthly Newsletter.
Members collect and restore tractors, engines and most any other antique item(s).
The Foothills Antique Power Association "Power from the Past Show" is held at Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds in Spartanburg, SC. Memorial Day weekend: Saturday, 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday is open for set-up.
The annual Show and Swap meet is a display of antique tractors, cars, trucks, hit & miss engines, garden tractors, small gas engines and various farm equipment and household items from the past. There will be two "Parades of Power" with the tractor parading the fairgrounds. Vendors and members set-up to show and offer for sale a variety of antiques, tractor & engine parts, old tools and arts & crafts. Food including BBQ & ribs and beverages are available. Activities include: Kids Pedal Tractor pull, Tractor games. No alcohol permitted. Primitive camping and camping with hook-ups are available on site.
Directions to fairgrounds: Exit #4 off Business I-85, turn right onto Simuel Rd. (at Hardee's), go to Howard St., turn left, go 1.9 miles to Fairground Rd., turn right, go ¼ mile to fairgrounds.
